Francisco Sánchez Rivas joins LLYC to boost acquisitions

LLYC has announced the addition of Francisco Sánchez Rivas to its Board of Directors in order to boost mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate venturing by the firm. Francisco Sánchez Rivas will report to José Antonio Llorente, Chairman of the Board, and to the Board of Directors.

Francisco Sánchez Rivas is a specialist in investment banking with more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, risk capital and private placements, having been involved in over 80 operations. After a period of time as CEO for Spain and Portugal of Edmond de Rothschild Corporate Finance for almost a decade, he set up Zechman Capital, an investment banking boutique specializing in the middle market. He was previously Corporate Finance Director at Deloitte. At present, he is also a on the boards of directors at other companies in the technology and media sector. Francisco Sánchez Rivas has a Degree in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Post-graduate Degree in Financial Markets from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as an MBA from the IESE Business School and an AMP from Harvard Business School.

The LLYC Strategic Plan 2020-2022 considers acquisitions-based growth as complementary to its organic growth. The most recent acquisition, in May of this year, involved the Colombian innovation consultancy firm Adaptative, which offers innovation consultancy services (IAAS) and uses a proprietary research, design and implementation method for communication, marketing and public affairs projects. It acquired Arenalia in 2018, a corporate communication consultancy firm based in Barcelona, specializing in the field of consumer affairs, digital brand and lifestyle.

José Antonio Llorente believes that “Francisco joining our Board of Directors will enable us to draw up an acquisitions investment plan at a time such as this when numerous opportunities exist, both with start-ups and with more consolidated businesses. We seek to increase volume in certain markets where we already operate, enter other new markets and expand or strengthen our fields of expertise and services”.
